Saddlecrest Booster Pump Station and Reservoir Commissioning

Saddlecrest, California: Booster Pump Station

Project Details

Scope of Work

The Saddlecrest Booster Pump Station and Reservoir Commissioning project included furnishing all products, labor, tools, transportation, and services necessary for complete construction of the facility. Major tasks included preparing subgrade and compacting soils, installing piping and electrical conduits for new equipment, and constructing reinforced concrete foundations for the pump station building, hydro-pneumatic tank, and aboveground fuel tank. The project also included construction of the booster pump station building, a new motor control center, and installation of an emergency standby generator with appurtenances. Additional work consisted of installing the hydro-pneumatic tank, erecting an 8-foot chain link fence with three-strand barbed wire and access gate around the property perimeter, and completing installation and testing of all electrical and mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, valves, piping, and appurtenances. Upon completion, the contractor cleaned and restored all construction areas, delivering a fully functional pumping station under a single prime contract.

Community Benefit

The project’s primary benefits were reliable service and fire protection for the new Saddle Crest Homes community. The new 1.5-MG steel reservoir and booster pump station allow TCWD to lift water to a higher-elevation tank and then serve the neighborhood by gravity, providing adequate domestic pressure and meeting fire-flow requirements. In its CEQA filings, the State Water Resources Control Board noted that the TCWD’s Saddle Crest Reservoir and Booster Station Project strengthened local drinking-water infrastructure. Together, these improvements support dependable everyday service for residents while enhancing emergency readiness.
